Dar Dowlatshahi, MD, PhD., is a Stroke Neurologist, Ottawa Hospital; Assistant Professor and Clinician-Scientist Chair, Department of Medicine, University of Ottawa; Scientific Director, Ottawa Stroke Program; and Scientist, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.
He obtained his MD and PhD. from McMaster University, then completed a neurology residency at the University of Ottawa and a stroke fellowship at the University of Calgary. He has an active clinical research program in acute stroke and intracerebral hemorrhage, and is funded through the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and CIHR. Through collaborative trials and observational studies, he hopes to discover a treatment for intracerebral hemorrhage.
