Eye tracking helps identify PD-like abnormalities in pre-PD individuals

ONDRI researchers have co-authored a paper highlighting promising new potential Parkinson’s Disease (PD) biomarkers (or early indicators of disease). Doug Munoz, Julia Perkins, Brian Coe, Jeff Huang and Donald Brien – working out of Centre for Neuroscience Studies at Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario – collaborated with researchers at Philipps-University in Marburg, Germany to recruit study participants. A comparison of eye tracking data from people living with PD, REM sleep disorder – a known forerunner for PD – versus controls highlighted areas of promise that require further research.
