ONDRI’s Research
ONDRI is mobilizing advances in research into dementia, cognitive and motor disorders. The goal is to improve diagnosis, prognosis, care and outcomes for persons living with these diseases and those who support them.

Current research is built on a strong foundation

In ONDRI’s Foundational study, data were collected across multiple assessments. The primary purpose was to generate deep characterizations (a complex series of observable characteristics or traits) of people living with at least one of the five diseases studied by ONDRI.
ONDRI’s ongoing studies are designed to build on this data, leverage recent scientific and technological advances to achieve impact in basic science, individual function and health system factors.

Research guided by four aims
ONDRI’s research activities, partnerships & collaborations are guided by four aims.
What is dementia and why study it
Neurodegeneration can lead to dementia symptoms. ONDRI’s research is focused on finding disease biomarkers early in this process.
Software
ONDRI researchers have put an important emphasis on data quality. Open-source materials, tools and software highlight some of the innovative methods associated.
